Event Series: Family Farmacy

Family Farmacy

November 14 @ 11:00am - 1:00pm

Growing family wellness through plants and play

Join us for a free drop-in workshop where you and your family will learn how plants support healthy bodies and minds. The garden is our classroom, and each lesson follows the season.

You’ll grow, make, and taste your way through the session. Activities draw on herbalism and cooking, along with plant-based art.

Family Farmacy: From crafting home remedies and harvesting herbs to cooking garden-fresh meals and making nature-inspired art, discover how to care for yourself, each other, and the earth. (Note: Caregivers come in many forms, including chosen family and birth family. Elders, children, youth, young adults, and everyone in between are welcome and appreciated.)

ACCESSIBILITY

The kitchen/classroom is wheelchair accessible; with advance notice we can add a mat path across the greenhouse’s pebbled ground (garden entrance has a small raised threshold; garden paths are grass).
Tables adjust height; backless benches/stools available.
Kitchen is shared—we avoid peanuts but can’t guarantee a nut-free space; water provided in refillable pitchers.
First aid on-site; nearest AED is one building away.
Nearest restrooms are ~1 min walk; a gender-neutral restroom is available by key from staff.
Not a scent-free space (essential oils used in class), though we ventilate and welcome masking/distancing.
All Greenhouse Education Center events happen rain or shine.
