Create Your Own Charm Bracelet Made of Beautifully Fragrant Roses!
Join us for a free workshop where you’ll make a charm bracelet from fragrant rose petals. Centuries ago, people turned them into clay to form rosary beads. With Jules Kulaya, you’ll borrow that tradition to shape your own.
While your pieces bake, we’ll sip tea brewed from the same flower and reflect on the work of our hands. We’ll talk about honoring the green world and communing with plant kin through art.
We’ll also examine the roots of our adornments and their cost to our ecologies. What we wear can connect us to the land as much as what we eat. This event is part of Art and AgriCulture. Explore your relationship to food and agriculture, and the histories, stories, and traditions that shape the ways we grow, prepare, and share food.
ACCESSIBILITY
The kitchen/classroom is wheelchair accessible; with advance notice we can add a mat path across the greenhouse’s pebbled ground (garden entrance has a small raised threshold; garden paths are grass).
Tables adjust height; backless benches/stools available.
Kitchen is shared—we avoid peanuts but can’t guarantee a nut-free space; water provided in refillable pitchers.
First aid on-site; nearest AED is one building away.
Nearest restrooms are ~1 min walk; a gender-neutral restroom is available by key from staff.
Not a scent-free space (essential oils used in class), though we ventilate and welcome masking/distancing.

All Greenhouse Education Center events happen rain or shine.
