October 29 @ 6:00pm - 7:00pm

Mini Milagrito Altars
Join us for a free workshop where you’ll build a mini milagrito altar ahead of Día de Muertos. Milagritos (little miracles) are a common Mexican decoration. They’re rooted in prayer and gratitude.
You’ll adorn yours with cempoalxóchitl (Aztec marigold) while we sip tea together. Please bring photos of your ancestors to place inside.
This event is part of Art and AgriCulture. Explore your relationship to food and agriculture, and the histories, stories, and traditions that shape the ways we grow, prepare, and share food.
FACILITATOR
Diana is a Mexican clinical herbalist with 15 years of experience studying and practicing herbalism. Herbal medicine has played a key role in Diana’s healing journey and she has been working closely with plants, teachers, and curanderas (healers) to continue deepening her knowledge of plants. During her herbal workshops, Diana empowers participants to use their intuition and senses to guide their own relationship with plants.
ACCESSIBILITY
The kitchen/classroom is wheelchair accessible; with advance notice we can add a mat path across the greenhouse’s pebbled ground (garden entrance has a small raised threshold; garden paths are grass).
Tables adjust height; backless benches/stools available.
Kitchen is shared—we avoid peanuts but can’t guarantee a nut-free space; water provided in refillable pitchers.
First aid on-site; nearest AED is one building away.
Nearest restrooms are ~1 min walk; a gender-neutral restroom is available by key from staff.
Not a scent-free space (essential oils used in class), though we ventilate and welcome masking/distancing.

All Greenhouse Education Center events happen rain or shine.
