Our Work

We bring plants to the places New Yorkers use every day. We transform challenging, underutilized spaces so plants can grow, and connect people to plants through learning, wellness, and paid work that support daily life.

We organize our work around two connected efforts: Transforming Space and Engaging Communities

We focus on underutilized parts of the city—streets, courtyards, campuses, and other everyday places—where access to green space is limited or nonexistent. By adding soil, plants, and reliable care where they are missing, we make nature part of daily life rather than a distant destination.

We work with residents, students, workers, and partners to plan and activate those places. This includes collaborative, thoughtful design, hands-on learning, wellness-centered activities, and paid work that helps New Yorkers build skills, stability, and connection over time.

These twin commitments shape how we plan, operate, and sustain our work across New York City.

Transforming Space

Creating and caring for planted spaces in the everyday settings where New Yorkers live, work, learn, and move through their day.

Engaging Communities

Connecting people to plants through learning and wellbeing, building familiarity and comfort so green spaces become part of daily life.

Workforce

Providing paid training and jobs that help maintain green spaces and create long-term opportunities for New Yorkers across the city.
