HONOREES

Sharon Casdin has been a dedicated supporter of The Hort for almost 20 years, serving as Vice Chair on our Board of Trustees for the past 10 years. Sharon’s generosity and enthusiasm about The Hort’s work has made an incredible impact on the progress and growth of our social service programs. Her commitment has inspired others to join our cause and support our mission to sustain the vital connection between people and plants. We value Sharon’s contributions to The Hort and her commitment to making New York City a greener environment for all.
Gil Schafer is consistently recognized as a leading practitioner of contemporary classical architecture. Gil holds a Master’s degree from the Yale School of Architecture and founded his eponymous firm, G.P. Schafer Architect, in 2002. The author of the bestselling book, The Great American House, and the newly released A Place to Call Home, Gil’s work has been featured in numerous publications, including Architectural Digest, The New York Times, British Vogue, and The Wall Street Journal. Gil serves on several nonprofit advisory and trustee boards, and served as president and then chairman of The Institute of Classical Architecture & Art for over a decade.
